Odd Birds

So I've slowly come to realize that my girls are odd birds
(but nice birds to have around!)
Here are some photos to prove it!
This is a common occurrence in our house-
Nora walking around with something sticking out of her mouth.

or with something stuck on her hand...
she kept sticking her hand in the tea pot and couldn't get it out.
awwww...Nora pushing her baby...colander?!
She never pushes an actual baby-
it's either a colander, or an ear of corn, or her binky...

(I think she said it was Nana and Boppa's house)
Isn't she lovely?

Yet another Olivia face...precious

Olivia was so proud that she picked her own outfit this day.
I tried to explain that when you wear a print on top, there should be a solid on the bottom and vice versa. She laughed and said I was silly. Then she said- "look- flowers and flowers!" Who can argue with that logic?? At least Nora and I matched when we went out that day!

Nora was putting a blanket on her head and walking around the house.
I had already stood and watched her walk into a wall- she laughed and went the opposite direction. It was pretty funny!

August- wrapped up!

The month of August started the best way possible- with a wedding! Nick (Derek's youngest brother) and his fiancee, Rachel got married in Buffalo on August 9th. Dispite a glum forecast, the day was beautiful, bright, and warm. Olivia and her cousin, Madison, were the flower girls and they looked so beautiful! The rest of the month was filled with hot days and playing outside...and of course, being silly!

my parents dog, Bo, was never far from Nora-
Nora was a little unsure at first, but soon warmed up him!
Bath time! The girls were bathing in our jacuzzi tub and I put in too many bubbles
so when I started the jets, there was a bubble explosion!

Nora loved playing in the dirt-
I was planting some flowers for the front porch.

Nora had already eaten 2 pieces of pizza by this point-
she grabbed this one from the try and started chewing away!

July- wrapped up!

So June passed way too quickly and soon we were on our way to our new life in NC. My mom rode down with us on June 28th and the plan was to stay with our good friends, Nate and Kate, for about a week before we moved into our temporary housing- an apartment about 5 minutes from our house. Nate and Kate live in Huntersville, which is about 35 minutes from our new house. After being at their house for s few days, Derek called the moving company to find out when we should be receiving our belongings and after a short pause and some sputtering, the woman on the other end informed Derek that our stuff was still in Erie. They had loaded our stuff onto a small truck and were going to take it to the warehouse to load it onto a bigger truck to bring to NC...it never got loaded onto the bigger truck. SO, here we were, with only about a weeks worth of clothes, a week had already passed and we were still about 2 weeks from our stuff arriving. By the time it would have gotten here, it would have been about 13 days until we moved into our house and a week of that time we were going to be in Hilton Head with Nate and Kate so they graciously invited us to stay for the month. It was SO much fun living with them and even though we're in our house and it's so beautiful, I still miss seeing them every day, playing Mario Kart Wii every night, and watching the series of Arrested Development (we gained 2 new fans there!) We still see each other about twice a week so that's good! Anyway- enjoy the highlights of our July!

June- wrapped up

On to June! This too was a busy month- we had to go back to NC in the beginning of the month to do our pre-drywall walk-through, it was Derek's graduation, we were planning a garage sale, a going away/graduation party, plus trying to squeeze in as much time with my friends as possible before we left! Whew!
